Mediterranean Greek Chicken Wrap with Spicy Feta Sauce
If you’re looking for a fresh, flavor-packed dinner that feels like a trip to Greece, this Mediterranean Greek Chicken Wrap with Spicy Feta Sauce is it. I found a version of this recipe online and gave it a few simple home-chef tweaks—and let me tell you, it turned out incredible. My family devoured it!
This recipe starts with a bold and zesty Greek chicken marinade that makes the chicken juicy, tender, and packed with Mediterranean flavor.
Greek Chicken Marinade Ingredients:
-
500g (1 lb) boneless chicken breast or thighs, cut into strips
-
3 tbsp olive oil
-
2 tbsp lemon juice
-
3 garlic cloves, minced
-
1 tsp dried oregano
-
1 tsp paprika
-
1/2 tsp cumin
-
Salt & black pepper to taste
I whisked together the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper, then tossed the chicken strips until fully coated. For best results, let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes. The combination of fresh lemon juice, garlic, and oregano delivers classic Greek flavor, while paprika and cumin add warmth and depth.
Cook the chicken in a hot skillet until golden brown and cooked through. The edges get slightly caramelized, which adds amazing flavor to the wrap.
Spicy Feta Sauce (Tirokafteri Style)
The real star of this dish is the spicy feta sauce. Inspired by traditional Greek tirokafteri, it adds creamy, tangy heat that balances perfectly with the savory chicken. Spread it generously inside a warm pita or flatbread before adding the chicken.
To build the wrap, layer:
-
Warm pita or flatbread
-
Spicy feta sauce
-
Greek chicken strips
-
Fresh tomatoes
-
Crisp cucumbers
-
Red onion
-
Optional: lettuce or fresh parsley
This Greek chicken wrap recipe is perfect for busy weeknights, meal prep lunches, or casual entertaining. It’s high in protein, packed with Mediterranean ingredients, and incredibly satisfying without feeling heavy.
If you love Mediterranean recipes, healthy chicken wraps, and easy family dinners, this one deserves a spot in your rotation. It is also amazing the next day for leftovers or just creating a salad!
** A couple of time-saving tips-
I have used frozen chicken in a bag, the grilled one from Kroger. I still added all the spices, but it was pre-cooked.
We have tried pita and naan. The pita definitely wraps better. The Naan tastes good but is a bit thick so it's more like a salad on bread, lol.
Love, Melissa
